Rapid human population growth threatens habitats critical for wildlife and for our own existence.
From suburban America to the Amazon rainforest, a growing human population is causing, both directly and indirectly, destruction of wildlife habitat (both aquatic and terrestrial). Beyond this obvious fact, humans are also responsible for massive disruption of the biosphere via global warming and ozone depletion. As a result, numerous species (and habitats) face extinction.
What about population growth in the United States??

Maybe . . . . but our influence would certainly increase if more individuals get involved!!
Most Americans* support more funding for environmental initiatives, want a cleaner environment, & want to protect threatened and endangered species.
Unfortunately, many politicians do not.
Only an active & informed electorate can change that.
*A recent national poll conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Research, Inc., revealed that 86% of voters feel environmental issues are important when deciding how to vote. Eighty-three percent believe it is important for presidential candidates to make environmental protection a top priority.
