A pair of Cinnamon Teal was present at the Woods Tract of the Sauerheber Unit of the Sloughs WMA in Henderson County, Kentucky on 8 April 2006. Features used to distinguish the female from similar Blue-winged Teal were the overall warmer plumage, relative lack of contrast in flank and head/facial markings, and structure. Note particularly the long bill/sloping profile and relatively uniform plumage of the head and face. She also appeared to be slightly larger than the accompanying Blue-winged.
