Friday, May 8th The Organization of Biology Grad Students will be continuing our new tradition and will be having another crawfish boil to celebrate the end of the academic year. This year's editions is scheduled for May 8th, the friday of finals week, from 4-10 at Nick Santangelo's house. The cost is $10 per person for food and drinks are BYOB. If you plan to come (or are bringing a spouse or your family), please let me know by April 24 so we can get an idea of how much crawfish to order. Also, please bring a side dish (something Louisiana inspired, if possible) and a folding chair since seating is limited. This should be a lot of fun and a good way to unwind after the busy semester so mark your calendars for May 8th! I hope to see you all there! Monday, Nov 5 - Phi Sigma Meeting Phi Sigma is meeting in Moore 123 at 5:00. During the meeting Dr. Richter will discuss how undergraduates can get involved in research. Also, Phi Sigma will be distributing "spirit cards", which represent a fundraising opportunity. Finally, they will also be voting on any tee shirt designs and aks people to sign up to work at the upcoming book sale in November. |

Kentucky Academy of Sciences Annual Meeting Abstracts are due Sep 30 if you would like to present at this year's meeting. The meeting will be held on the University of Kentucky's campus on Friday evening, Oct 31 and all day on Saturday, Nov 1st. |

The menu consists of herb roasted chicken, sliced roast beef au jus, twice baked potatoes, green beans, dessert, rolls and drinks. The cost is $17.50 per person. Friday, May 11th: Crawfish Boil The Organization of Biology Students is sponsoring an end of the semester crawfish boil for all graduate students and faculty on Friday, May 11th. The gathering will begin in the early evening (5-ish). The final location is TBA. If you want to attend the boil, please sign the sign-up sheet in Sheila's office by 27th of April, and give Emily Gustin $5.00 to help pay for the crawfish. You can also put money in Emily's mailbox in Sheila's office. Participants are also encouraged to bring some sort of dessert or other food item. Contact Troy Evans for more information. |
Saturday, May 5th: Breakaway Saturday!!: Had enough of the semester? Need a break? Join other faculty and students for a day-hike somewhere in eastern Kentucky.
